Grafik i Väst (GiV) is a non-profit association for print makers. It came about in a growing need for a centre, complementing the institutional infrastructure of the fine arts & now houses an impressive bank of some 4000 edition prints. The original group of 50 local members does now hold 270 nationally & internationally based artists. We get co-funding through an assignment concerning cultural strategies for Region Västra Götal&. Together with our administrator/gallery host in the centre we organize internal & external exhibitions, artist presentations, collaborative workshops, lectures, regular updated membership catalogues, an annual print scholarship for student printmakers. Grafik i Väst is also a member of the European Network ENDEGRA: www.endegra.org. To improve the public´s access to member´s works; visually, pedagogically & commercially, we now digitalize all the prints to use the contemporary IT communication.
